[Making their photo paper smell like a lab print? you know, like how mercedes spends money on defining the 'new car smell'.

    its sure does smell good.

oh and, I got a CIS kit for my printer and it is cool

I was thinking of getting a printer. How much is a decent one? I know nothing about them so I wouldn't know what to look for.

    How much was that kit?

    Was it hard to prime?

    How do the colors look?

bulk ink ftl. color gamut is now different, archivalness is gone (not that you worried about that with buying a Canon in the first place :o)

about same price as a set of inks. however instead of getting 8ml or something like that you get 100 :naughty:

this kit came primed, it took a while to swap the chips to the new carts etc, but that depends on what model printer you have.

pretty damn good actually! 1:1 with a canon shot they are extremely close.

I have had many generic carts (not in this printer, brand new), and this is much better. they apparanly use some quality ink from the USA.... probably thailand.

well dur, it isnt canon ink........
its extremely close, a quick profile will get it 99.99%

unfortunately, broke student again... but for $200 AU (new printer + ink) cant be beat.

you can get into wide format for like 600 beans, quality of pictures would kill that canon piecer you've got there. for cameras canon is amazing, for printers they're mad beat. (this based off of actual tests i've done on their last 3 product launches (except current) vs. epson, HP, and lexmark. 1 epson, 2 hp, distant 3rd canon, not even in the fucking running, lexmark).

i'd get a used 4000 before looking at a cis, but whatever floats your boat. the new canon ipf5000 is sweet, but the ink costs are too high

really? only three times what I paid for printer and ink? :o

ive A-B'd the canons and the R250/350 and found the canon to come out much better. sharper images, faster printing, and more saturated colours (okay, the epsons colour might be more true, but if you ask anyone what they prefer they will point to the canon).

also Ive had 2x epsons before and they constantly broke. this is my second pixma and they are both going strong.

Im sure epson is a lot better than the old ones I am used to, but memories stick.

fair to say, but their recent printers from the r200 up are fucking gold, if you're worried about them breaking, a 3 year warranty at best buy for them is like 30 bucks. not that bad on the price of a 200+ dollar printer for 3 years.
