Do you think somebody eating 2k over maint will gain more muscle than somebody eating

  1. 500 over maintenance ? I'm sure everybody has read the infamous T-nation article about how natural lifters can only physically build so much muscle, like .25-.5lbs a week. And just cause you give your body more good calories it doesn't mean it will use them to build muscle but rather just store them as fat instead. Do you think eating anything over 300-500 calories over maintenance is just a waste if you're trying to build muscle ?

    everybody is different, but for the most part, they might put on a little more muscle, but most of it will just be fat.

    the best bet is to start at 500, and add 250or so cal every few weeks and see where you get the best mix of muscle gain and minimal fat gain
