Assuming you don't change how you eat and you don't do any regular exercise right now, yeah, you'll probably lose alot more than 10 pounds.

...well, I don't know about "a" day, but by watching your sodium intake and drinking a lot of water AND eating a shit load of asparagus you can easily drop 10lbs in as little as 3 days...

*but if you have low blood pressure... it's probably NOT a good idea to cut your sodium.

If you eat clean and cycle very day you will lose lots of weight. You could easily lose 20 lbs or more. I've lost ~20 lbs in about 3 months with nothing but diet. If I did cardio it could've been 30 lbs. :hs:

Calories are energy for your body. Once the calorie reserves you get from eating are used up, your body starts to convert other resources into energy for your body to use (fat, and some time muscle.) So after you burn the calories you've eaten, you start to burn fat/muscle.

And by eating right, I mean eating clean. Don't eat any processed foods (chips, cookies, starchy foods, fast food, fried foods, almost anything that comes pre-packaged.) And eat clean sources of protein and whole grains. (chicken breast, whole grain bread, tuna, cottage cheese, yogurt, etc.) Drink lots of water and don't drink any pop/sugary fruit drinks.

oh so by calories you mean carbohydrates then (ie atkins, you dont have much of these so fat gets burned instead?)

am in the same train of thinking in my "exercise in the morning when you have low calories left" thread? (http://forums.offtopic.com/showthread.php?t=1847289)

Fat, carbs, and proteins are all forms of energy for your body. That energy is measured in calories.

If your body uses 2500 calories per day (this is just an example number, what your body uses could be very different) for fuel, you will lose weight by eating under 2500 calories per day. If you don't feed it enough it will go to its energy stores - fat and muscle - to get what it needs. You could eat 2000 calories of pure fat and you'd still lose weight because your body needs 2500 to sustain itself. Now that's not the best idea because you'd be saccrificing a lot of muscle mass, that's where a healthy balance of protein, carbs and fats comes in.

Read the stickies for more info on eating right.

Yes but if only losing 10 pounds it's not gonna be all fat.

There's a difference between Calories and calories. They're two different measurements, one for electrical charge and one that's fuel for our bodies. It's confusing since the only aesthetic difference is a capital letter, but there's a big difference.
