I've got this arguement with my housemate about fitness levels between a professional bodybuilder such as Jay Cutler outrunning a normal skinny guy.

I'm saying that the bodybuilder would have better cardio levels and outrun him in a distance race because lifting weights does incorporate some form of cardio also, while he is saying the smaller guy would last longer because hes not as bulked up and not carrying so much weight.

Who do you think would win and why?

If we are comparing a bb'er and the average american male, I would def. say a bb'er.

Maybe in a sprint, but how many bulky distance runners have you ever seen?

i think they'd last longer than the AVERAGE adult american. but would be smoked by anyone that even remotely trains for cardiovascular endurance somewhat often.

seriously, think of the kind of shape the average adult is in... 30+

Depends on when it is. IIRC, BB'ers are weak as hell in leading up to a show, so that would probably be an average guys best chance.

my buddy ran all state for track in the 100 and i can beat him almost every time...

ask me to run further then 101 i will die...

but i think its more genetics related for me.. my brother larry broke all massachussetts records in the 100, 440 hurdle back in 80's and they still stand. If he wasnt a nut bag he probably would have been on olympic team.

Although every single time i ever run hard which is about 5 times in 5 years  I seriously fuck my shins and hamstrings

IIRC, Cutler had said that he got out of breath walking fast and felt quite weak leading up to his shows at times.

they are carbing up, they feel better then ever... so i would say they would be better then normal

the guys you hear about suffering is because they were not ready weeks before and had to run keto diets and hard cardio with t3/clen etc right to the show. Thats deaths door, like that you couldnt get out of bed nevermind run

I don't think the average American male knows how to even run. So I believe that a bodybuilder will be able to outrun, sprint and distance, the average American male.

Every year my fraternity plays a full contact football game and I run around the field like a school yard bully. I lift and they sit on their asses playing xbox. :dunno:

The average joe is so ridiculously out of shape, of course a pro bodybuilder could outrun them
