Do you shut down your laptop, or just close the lid when you travel with it?

I carry my Blackbook with me to work every day, and I usually just close the lid... I have all the programs I usually use already open, and I don't feel like closing them all just to reopen 30 minutes later...

    What do you do?

Also, what do you do at night, I just leave mine open all night so I can seed torrents, my blackbook almost never goes to sleep...

I almost never shut mine down. I usually just restart every few days because of updates, and it seems to make everything just run better.

yea, about every other week or so, I let the battery drain down to nothing, and shut down, then plug it in, and shut down for the night...

I hear that allows the battery to cycle, but that might not be true...

only time it gets shut down is when i don't charge the battery enough and it shuts itself off while sleeping - did that for the first time yesterday

i seriously hadn't shutdown my mac since i got it a few months ago, i love the sleep feature, hope it doesn't ruin my display cord in the long run though from closing the lid so much, but i have applecare for that

I just close it. I can't see the harm in keeping that way.

in the 1.5 years i've owned my ibook, i've never shut it down...and only time i restart it is either for updates or programs that need a restart during installation. other wise i just close the lid.

minus well shut it down if I close the lid for the night. I leave it open and put the brightness to lowest setting so in case something happens display isn't on too bright or whatever.
