I've been trying to squeeze 200 push ups in throughout the day. I usually lift in the afternoons. Is this okay to squeeze in push ups throughout the day before and after my work out or is this supposed to be my rest time?

Also as long as I feel fine is it detrimental to focus on uppers body lifts multiple times a week or is this overdoing it? My body seems to recover just fine in time for the next days lift for the same area :dunno:

why dont you just hope on a proven routine. the one in the sticky, 5/3/1, 5x5 make it easy for yourself and yes time off can help you recover

I think the broseph meant that if you're training hard enough, you'd be so sore the days after working chest/tris that you wouldn't be able to do 200 push-ups. I think that's what he meant anyways.

:69: there is no way after any of my work outs, i'd be able to do 20 push ups.

You must push thru regular pushup soreness in order to reach Ultimate elite soreness.

read the sticky routines. like said earlier after a good enough workout you wont want to do 10 or 20 pushups. next day though if your not killing from soreness, do 10 or enough that your not about to struggle for "active recovery"

Whats the point of lifting so hard that you are more feeble than a girl? Doesn't make much sense to me. So I'm supposed to be so sore that for most of the day I am to weak to use my muscles I'm working hard to develop?

if you want to lift to be athletic and not a sore "feeble" bodybuilder gymrat type then pushups aren't going to help much anyway. What exactly are you trying to get out of training?

Fool makes sense. I say go hard on each muscle group when you feel the desire. Atleast 1-2x a week. There are times when I want to train like an elite soldier machine, but that usually ends up in me crashing every night at 9pm.

Asses your goals in a realistic frame to meet your daily needs, desires, goals and limits.

I want to be stronger and too look good. I don't care about how much my max bench is or anything. I just want to be fit and stronger. I want too look good as well but don't want too much muscle. I don't want to look like bateman.
