Bill to Restrict Ammunition Moves Ahead

    Last Updated: July 7th, 2009

Earlier today, the Senate Public Safety Committee passed Assembly Bill 962. The bill now moves to the Senate Appropriations Committee for consideration. No hearing date has been scheduled.

AB962, sponsored by Assembly Member Kevin De Leon (D-45), would make it a crime to privately transfer more than 50 rounds of ammunition per month, even between family and friends, unless you are registered as a “handgun ammunition vendor” in the Department of Justice’s database. Ammunition retailers would have to be licensed and store ammunition in such a manner that it would be inaccessible to purchasers. The bill would also require purchasers submit to fingerprinting, which would be kept in dealers’ records and subject to inspection by the Department of Justice. Lastly, mail order ammunition sales would be prohibited.

That one has been brewing for a while. It's also been defeated or stalled in one form or another too. They just keep coming up with new or recylced BS even if it's not going to pass. NRA and CA gun lobby will fight to the bloody end. Such a waste of funds and time.

  4. Pretty much. I wouldn't worry too much about this. This is the wet dream of some ignorant official, and it will die as such.

On a different note, I drove through LA to Santa Monica yesterday and that was reason enough for me to not want to live in California. SMOG everywhere, traffic up the ass and 20 million people crammed close together. San Deigo isn't bad, but fuck LA and every suburb around it.

Clearly, our law makers, and libtards that propose these types of bills are experts, and have extensive experience on this kind of stuff.

its probably meant to target gang members who give each other ammo.

it'll be a shock to them when they find out criminals dont follow the law.
