I keep hoping Black Hawk Down will get released in Superbit, but it's not looking likely :wtc:

Oh, btw, 24 Season 2 DVD Set comes out 9/9/03

First of all LOTR is not even made by the same people as Superbit.

And Second of all The sound and video quality on LOTR is better than almost all superbits.

Superbit is just Columbia/Tristar, and it is mainly just a marketing ploy ;)

that means theoretically, they could do it for BHD, since that movie is columbia/tristar... :big grin:

    Meh, Kinda...

Depends... If you like DTS or have a DTS Reciever that can bring out the subtle nuances...

The video quality improvements is really only noticeable on high end gear. The DTS tracks are nice though.

oh, and superbit stuff is a big difference.....

however lots of newer dvds are putting all the extras on the second disc anyways... so the first disc is dedicated to just the movie and audio itself.
Kinda like a superbit discs. :dunno:

but this fifth element is easily one of the best quality dvds i have seen...

Red dragon is also amazing quality... Goldmember is also good...

my favorite dvd for testing out black levels and black retention is the Diana Krall - Live in paris dvd though

That's bullshit and you know it. They upped the bitrate of the video and the audio (DTS) to take advantage of the entire DVD. :slap:

Wrong. Just because they are putting the extras on a second DVD doesn't mean they are upping the bitrate of the video and audio on the movie DVD. That's especially obvious if they don't add a DTS track.

Oh, they didn't have the technology to do this the FIRST time around when they mastered the dvd?

Why don't they just put the shit out at the correct bitrate the first time around. :slap: It's all marketing shit so monkeys like you see the pretty silver box and :wackit:. It's all about building a brand identity and selling discs twice rather than releasing a quality product the first time around.

GOD DAMNIT. I hate ignorant people.

"I talked to my uncle once who is THE GOD OF AUDIO/VIDEO and now I know everything!!!!!11"

You idiots saying "its just a marketing ploy" need to shut the hell up. If you're not heavily into this kind of stuff, your opinion means dick. Don't try to act like a pro if you're not really into it.

There is a lot of learning involved in really knowing what a truely good quality picture looks like. Its like audio, it has to grow on you. I hate when I hear people say shit like "oh man yeah it's SO CLEAR" :ugh:

that has nothing to do with it SHUT THE FUCK UP YOU STUPID FUCKS.

"oh man we're so ahead of the game, we know all of the SECRETS!! HAHA THOSE STUPID FOOLS FALLING FOR EVERYTHING!!" :ugh:
