Do you guys lift on days you know you're going to drink?

    Is there any point to lifting on days you expect heavy alcohol consumption?

    I thought I read in this forum that it is actually detrimental to lift if you are going to get really drunk

    I read on T-Nation that a decent amount of alcohol decreases / shuts off testosterone production in guys for like 24 hours. So it sounds like it would kill your lifts for the day. But at the same time, is that better than having the same test lost on a nonlifting day?

    i don't drink nearly as much as i used to, though

    ehh....I keep it somewhat calm (i.e. no keg stands) but I'm in college and plan to enjoy the next 7-8 years...

    unless your lifting after you're hammered, I don't see how it would be detrimental to your lifts.

    So what if it lowers your test production? In the end, your test balance would still be higher than if you didnt' lift and drank wouldn't it?

    Test prod increase from lifting + test red. from drinking > test red. from drinking

    Not usually only because I dont even drink much anymore so the days I do dirnk I make sure I have a day or 2 off from the gym to get plastered/recover.

    negatory. Well, I guess I was still smoking the first year or so.. but I had already been smoking since my younger teens.



    Fuck weed though, haven't touched it in a 16 months.

    I still lift if I know I am going to drink later that night.

    Only because I do not drink to get drunk or shit-faced. If I did drink and get smashed though, I probably wouldn't bother to lift that day. Going the gym and then going out for a few drinks afterwards is a pretty standard thing for me.
