basicaly, my leg day bores the shit out of me, ive been doing the same shit for about 6 months. Im thinking its time to kill squats for a few months in favor of lunges and i might still do front squats. I understand squats are arguably the end all body exercise, but that being said, do you ever cycle them out in favor of muscle confusion/ a plateu ?

If you stop doing squats you will instantly gain stick legs and suck at life.

this thread reminds me of what i saw today

i saw some 40 year old guy in midthigh shorts. his legs couldn't have been more than 12"

i have bigger arms than his legs, i had no idea what to think

I don't think it would be a bad idea to cycle in lunges every once in awhile. Its a good unilateralish movement that could help even out any imbalances. I've been considering replacing my DES day with Lunges occasionally.

I always do some kind of squatting movement, often several times a week. There's no reason it should get boring: box squats (off different heights), band squats, reverse band squats, front squats, 20-rep squats, etc etc

It's all in how you do it and how you change up the volume/intensity.

I take out heavy squats every three weeks... but that is going to change soon.

the typical ME movement is supposed to get changed every 3 weeks for people at my level. ie heavy box squats get changed to heavy deficit pulls or GM's

I'm pretty much going to start eliminating heavy box squats from my entire routine. keep the DE box squats to keep the movement of sitting back. I've found too many box squats fuck up my full range.

I love squats. I had to drop from squatting 3x a week to 1 because my knees suck, and it's hard as fuck. I have to actively force myself to not squat :(

Try overhead squats. I've found powerlifting stuff (snatch, etc) is awesome to mix in my routine to pump me up.
