i am adding a feature to itrainharder that allows you to upload a custom image, so if you don't login in say 3-4 days, it will email you telling you you are a fucking slackass and will never attain your desired fitness goals

like for black jesus, it would be a tranny

if your goals are visual then the only reminder you'll need is a mirror. If you're not happy with the way you look then change it. If you need e-mails to tell you to work out or else you won't do it, then I wouldn't bother.

if your fitness goals aren't for looks, but for performance, then sure, do it. It should help, but again, your motivation should be internal and not external, or else you're bound to slack off.

It depends I guess. It has to be something that reminds you of your goal and that you have to do some stuff to get there. We're sure as hell aren't going to read a lengthy paragraph every time. A picture is worth a thousand words though.

well, we are talking people in general here. the goal is to find ways to get differnet people going for their goal.

people respond well to images, it will be interesting to see if it helps :dunno:

that is what i am going for. visual stimulation helps people get "into it" i would assume. me, no, others possibly.

the overall goal is to get people into it and looking to work on their fitness more. if their goal is someone elses body then so be it. if it helps their overall fitness then it is a bonus

A picture of their old fat-ass self is also a GREAT motivator.

oh are you running a site for that?

I think it's a good idea in that case... even though the external stuff makes a difference, if it's an e-community thing going on then it will help people stay involved and sometimes that is' what people need.

External reminders help if we're taking about long term (months) stuff. I saw that in a cognitive psychology class I had :o

well the community stuff is in the works, it always has been. i am looking for that "reminder" thing that keeps people coming back to the site so they don't forget about it. i figure a "visual" is an excellent start. i need to find that one thing that will help a majority of people

    what it is i don't know :o

that is the thinking behind it

say you don't login for 3 days, it will shoot you an email with the image in it say "Don't forget your commitment to yourself:" or something gay like that
