I was watching The contender Asia and guy kept tossin his opponent from the clich.

He lost 2 points for illegal blows (in a 5 round fight) but he won the fight.

His main offense was throwing from the clinch.

i think they count for domination

1.1. Points will be awarded for a correct Thai Boxing style, combined with hard and accurate strikes.

1.2. Points will be awarded for aggressive and dominating Muay Thai skill.

1.3. Points will be awarded for a fighter actively dominating his opponent.

1.4. Points will be awarded for the use of a traditional Thai style of defense and counter-attack.

The maximum score for each round is 10 points, the loser scoring either 9, 8 or 6

It's nice how that show gives nearly 50% of its airtime to the actual fights. I like that.

I thought that was one of the better fights they had shown so far.

He had some nice elbows in that fight too.

if i remember correctly, kicks and knees get the most points, then punches and elbows. elbows are seen somewhat as a desperation attack. proper muay thai throws don't get points, but they could sway judges opinion based on dominance. judo throws are fouls, as are other types of throws. depends really on where the fight is and how corrupt the judges and promoters are.

The ref at the fights tonight was fucking awful. People were doing hip tosses and not getting penalized, but then some people were swinging their opponent in the clinch and the person would just fall over and the other person was getting penalized. Just awful reffing.
