I think people assume that when you are in prison all you do is lift weights during gym time. Even if someone did lift alot, would they wouldn't get that big if all they eat is 3 meals a day? I'm sure those meals aren't super high in protein, or even that healthy, so how big/strong could they possibly get?

There isn't much else to do while in there. It's either lift or be someone's bitch or find god.

They can eat more than 3 meals a day, they can buy food from commissary. The quality probably isnt that great, but it's food.

The reason that some people get 'big' is that they 1.)get nutritionally balanced foods, its a requirement that the meals served provide the proper nutrition, 2.)they have little else to do outside of their assigned work detail for physical fitness, and 3.)they see it as a good opportunity to effect a positive change in some part of their life.

god, im really sorry, my brother just got out of prison so i have a huge bias. like nuke said the majority of prisons do not have weights, they do not get fed to well, they have comensary(sp) so if you have money you can eat. they do push ups with someone pushing on them for resistance and build water bags in cells. it is actually hard for them to work out with weight. for relivence, 18 inch arms in prison are amazing.

yeah, its real nice. suprisingly hes already got a girlfriend and is having a kid. two things i never thought my brother would have, he used to play 5 girls at a time. sadly his motovation to go the gym is no more. he is still big but getting smaller. it was great working out with him for the first few weeks that he did cause his intensity was so high from when he lifted in prison. just is sad that hes letting all that work go to waste now...

he was in for 2 years. he got in a car wreck with three of his best friends, unfortunetly he was driving, his car his a soft spot of dirt on a dirt road. car flipped, he was the only one seat belted in. his best friend who lived with us as well, flew threw the open window and broke his neck (paralyzed for life) and he was accountable for 2 kids in back. state charged him with aggrivated assault and 2 accounts of reckless endangerment. he could of been in for 27 years after just turning 18, he luckly ended up with only 2.

of course there are much more details, but thats the basic story.

you'll find that with dedication solutions to problems will come eventually. However, I don't want to know how they solve the protein shake problem.....:o

ive been to prison more time than i can remember. no one in there is really as jacked as people think. there are some huge dudes, but not as much as you think. it is just hard to get enough food. my brother was the biggest guy there with the exception of some really short guy. no one in there has legs either since the most they can squat is as much as someone weighs. like around 250. but when you go, have fun, its very interesting and is an experience.

well I worked in a prison for yoiuthful offenders (felony convicted 16-24 y.o.) and no there werent many huge guys but there were a few and yes they could get a lot of food they could buy all they wanted from the canteen or they could just take what they wanted fromt he small inmates, the majority of the inmates were in just great shape they could run for miles and do pull ups, dips and push ups forever. I doubt people would get bigger while in prison but they can definatly maintain what they have in terms of fitness
