MIL Do officers seem more "soft" than enlisted?

It's something i've been noticing. It's like they are flamboyant or something... I can't really place my finger on it. Maybe it's from all the education? Or the pampering?

    Anyone else notice this?

I actually think they are smarter. I notice officers handle business with a more logical approach.

Yes, this I notice. However, I also notice that they wear their uniforms not as proper, or their hair is all funked up too.

They don't stress unform wear to us as much as they should, when we're going through out commissioning sources. It also varies on the school or training center doing the training.

Its a big pet peeve of mine as well when I see officers who's uniform is not sharp. I always try my hardest to have a sharp uniform and can honestly say mine is as sharp or sharper than everyone else who works for me.

That said, it is a stereotype. I see PLENTY of enlisted who's uniforms look like crap. Officers just tend to stand out more, since we're supposed to set the example.

As far as being 'soft' - thats going to vary on the individual. That said, you'll catch more flies with honey than with vinegar. I know plenty of officers and SNCO's who are nice, until you abuse their niceness or slack off. We have the ability to turn it on and off ;)

If the officers and SNCO's went around yelling at everyone all the time, it would not create a good work environment. A happy worker is a more productive worker and its not always the officers job to be the diciplinarian.

i think its just the same percentage of people join both ends that are "soft"
and since there are less officers than enlisted, you notice them more
