do low-carb diets and high-protein diets increase risk of kidney stones?

    my bmi is 21




    whats the best way to minimize the increase risk of kidney stone formation from both low-carb and high-protein diets?

    are there any relevant supplements to add to my diet because for the past 7 months i don't think i've been taking them.

    is there a certain amount to aim for? i heard the 8 glasses a day thing was a myth

    fuck the myth, if you drink at least 5-6 glasses of water a day, you'll be fine...no kidney stone at all cuz it cleans it of course.

    Kidney stones are by far the most painful thing I have ever experienced. :wtc:

    I've never experienced it, only heard stories. And I've heard you'd rather die than have to withstand that kind of pain.

    3/4 - gallon of water is recommended I believe. But I probably drink about 1/2 - 3/4

    I just about begged the Dr. to euthenize me. I shoot for a gallon a day now
