I just got a new iPhone and charged it to full power right out of the box. Should I drain the battery and recharge full a couple of times to condition the battery or is this not needed?

agreed, however, it doesn't hurt to let the battery run down every now and then... why not live on the wild side?

Actually, I do this with all rechargeable batteries no matter what. They say they're "memory free" but there is still a calibration it follows.

With that said, I continue to get better battery life out of my iPhone, MacBook pro and nikon d200 batteries than others I know.
