Do girls always like it when a guy shows up out of the blue and suprises them?

Personally, I dont think its a good idea to be the "surprise and show up" type. It could be awkward, she might not always be around, she could be having time with friends, spending time with family, etc.

If someone wants to spend time with you, they'll make some time for you...you don't just show up and intrude.

I loved it when I got surprised by my bf. He was more of the I'll do something of the moment type like valentines day yu gotta do something, birthday and so forth but out of the blue thoughtfulness is a better thing to me than something on a specific day. Hope that made sense

My ex surprised me a couple times, and I liked it. Showed me that he thought about me, but who knows it may be different with your girl.

If you want to come off as the clingy or maybe even the stalker type, then yes. Who knows, maybe she likes the stalker type. :dunno:

I didn't feel like he was stalking me, but then again I wasn't a 2 hour drive or whatever away. If he did it ALOT then yeah I'd get the 'wtf is he checking up on me or something' vibe, but once in awhile, especially if you miss eachother can be really nice, from a girls point of view.

If you want to have certain flavor of surprise to your visit, making suddern arrangements ("Do you have any plans for later today? No? Ok, I'm going over right now!") and showing up out of nowhere ("Do you have any plans for later today? No?" *knock knock) are two different things. Which one will she appreciate more? I guess it really depends on your gf. :dunno:

It really depends on the circumstances when/where you drop by. Like for example if you know she goes on a short break at work at a certain time, stop by to hang out with her for a few minutes during her break.... that'd be cool. Same thing if you knew she didn't have lunch plans for a certain day, and you stopped by to bring her lunch.

I wouldn't interupt if she was doing something with friends on her own time, though. You would risk pissing off both her AND her friends -- and that could be very bad for you.

:werd: it all depends. try to inquire [without flat out asking her :slap:] what she'll be doing before you make the trip.

i drove 1500+ miles to surprise a guy before. ;] major points for me :wiggle:

I couldn't think of a nice way to say this exact same thing :o

SovietRussia, I really think it's a bad idea (unless of course you're going up there to be with her while she takes the test :hs: ). Call her before you head up there just to be on the safe side.

If you want to do it then do it. The line that you walk between clingy/stalker and spontaneous is just how you handle the visit. Show up with flowers. If she is out than don't call her and tell her to come home because you are standing outside...I mean the second you tell her you are there she is gonna feel guilty if she has other plans. If that happens leave the flowers (or something else) with a note and when she calls just tell her something than gives her the impression you are thinking of her and went out of your way to deliver them but DIDNT just drive 4 hours round trip to see her. Especially if she is just "this girl"

NO. Personally, I hate it when a guy shows up unannounced and expects me to be overjoyed. I very much appreciate the effort, but really, a call in advance is nice. It's just polite. :o Especially if it's long distance.

hmmm better make sure she's not going to be in bed with another man when you arrive.... 2 hours is a long drive back after seeing her with another man.

 nah, i get them for free... i'm awesome like that. ;)

 i drove back to my home-state. he was the 3rd friend i saw, but i made the trip for him.

:dunno: hurricanes increase the level of spontaneity, what can i say? that's how i roll.

;) the trip was well worth it
