I know it's all about $$funding$$
I think you answered your own question. But the answer is sometimes yes.
Do they still let foreigners do Ranger school? Saw it on a course list, probably pretty hard to get.
at airborne school we had an iraqi officer going to ranger school but this was in 06
typically not.. why you want to go to ranger school anyway?
if given the opportunity, who wouldnt want to go?
werd, though it looks like only officers really get a decent chance to do it, it would look good on one's record. Plus, im not sure exactly what Ranger capabilities are, but the only similar course we have is Pathfinder patrolman, which is run rarely, with limited slots and you have to be pretty checked out just to get on it, let alone pass it.
Doing something like Ranger school could be great preparation for someone who doesn't have access to advanced infantry training but wants to go try out for the Canadian Special Operations Regiment or the ninjasnipermountainrecce dudes at the Hill.
also, who doesn't like jumping out of planes?
I was under the impression that most Infantry officers (at least active) were given the opportunity to go to Ranger school?
yeah the infantry officers have the option of ranger school coming out of their basic infantry course. if they dont go at that point, they are usually S.O.L
if you want to do the cool guy stuff as a national guardsmen, join one of the SF groups and then enter the training pipeline. more funds available
