slow cookers aren't complex/expensive devices, just go with whatever. pressure cookers, not sure.

I know they aren't complex, I am not asking how to use one. I am asking what brand is good.

Well in that case I recommend you shell out more for a brand name that is made exactly the same as the cheaper one and probably in the same factory. Go with an All-Clad.

Slow cooker and pressure cooker are two different things. I have a Rival slow cooker/crock pot. Haven't used it in a while. Got it from Walmart.

I just bought a presto 16qt pressure cooker like 2 weeks ago. I went for one with a pressure gauge since I dont trust the stupid jiggler thing and don't need that bitch to explode on my stove top. My grandmom's give me a whole mess of recipes. Havent had a chance to try anything yet though.

Slow cookers are the best, "just set it, and forget it!"

pressure cookers are pretty aces to make shitty meat tender. you can get a really lean roast and make it pretty tasty.

pressure cooker > crock pot, imo. BUt a pressure cooker requires much more attention, and a bit of knowledge to work. The crock is definitely easier.

In a slow cooker, you literally can NOT fuck up your meal. And I'll second the comment about turning shitty meat into a masterpiece. Even shitty beef cuts turn out pretty fuckin good.
