So in my old age, my left elbow is starting to seriously bother me. It used to just pop here and there, no pain most times. Last night on chest day it poped on almost every set/rep and started to hurt, which severely limited my workout. I think last week's arm day did it in - at the end of that day I couldn't even do pulldowns with 20lbs.

With that said, do the sleeves help with the popping/pain? Any material better than others? I am hoping I can use the sleeve for a few weeks and the problem will resolve itself. :hs:

Yes I've read bdr's elbow guide as well.

Cliffs: elbow = ouch, sleeves = good?

I have the same issue, on my back days, I can barely do a pullup w/o shooting pain in my elbows, particularly the left. I'd feel like a huge db wearing those on both arms. Fuuuuuuuuu

my elbows tend to hurt when I work out but I found out that if I do a real intense self-massage just above the back of the elbow (low tricep) the pain instantly subsides. I do that a little during workouts and a lot after on days where my elbows hurt.

I haven't had to do it lately cause for all my DB benching I've been using a palms-facing grip (takes chest and shoulders out of the equation a bit but feels great) and doing mostly CG bench. My elbows and shoulders feel 100% normal lately and I love it.

I use the APT heavy duty sleeves.

The thickest ones (black and white) are almost TOO much for normal use.

Thanks, maybe I'll check out Big 5 on my way home and see if they have anything.

Well I bought a neoprene one, can't wait to try it tomorrow on shoulders.

I don't mind the popping as long as the pain is gone. :greddy:

Saw knee/elbow/wrist sleeves at the dollar store the other day for... well, a dollar. Worth a try.

the knee sleeves I have say not to wear them for more than 2 hours at a time... I'd assume elbow sleeves are the same deal.
