I walk a straight line during the week with my diet, routine, sleep, etc... then comes the weekend.

My diet becomes reckless (not nearly as bad as it was before though) :o

For those of you that maintain discipline during the weekends, please teach me... any tips? I'd like to stay at least 90% in line with what I do on the weekdays, with maybe one cheat meal per weekend.

    It's hard :hsd:

Weekends are difficult for me too. Getting married in less than 2 months plus having a social life that is more hectic than in past years makes it hard. Routine is different, get up later, too much stuff to take care of....sucks.

I feel like I have to take Monday just to recover/get back on track from the weekend. Same here...it's not out of control and I'm not eating crap but it's not as tight like it is during the week.

    In for some suggestions also.

Half of it is being at home for more meals, so you have more options... for me at least.

I work the same hours M-F and have scheduled times during the day when I eat. Once I get home at like 5-6 on a Friday, my reign is free until Monday morning... which includes the ultimate pitfall, going out to eat/drinking :o

I sleep in so I'll usually combine a few of my meals.

I dont get reckless, because I dont go party much anymore. Im not a big drinker. My BIGGEST problem is not eating ENOUGH. I train during the week and by weekend all I want to do is sleep or lay on the beach. I eat good but I admit I slack on caloric/protein intake Sat-Sun.

I had that problem for awhile...it's easy for me to stay on track during the week because my daily routine is the same everyday with work and all. Just gotta get better at pre-planning your weekend meals and not eating out.

Drinking is the worst part... went out Friday night and was feeling pretty good, and of course we had to stop for food on the way home at like 1:30 in the morning :o:wtc:

I knew what I was doing, but I didn’t care at the time.

its good eating out costs alot, or I'd do it more. I used to be a fan of going out ' bc its the weekends ' but ill save it now, and go out like one or 2 times a month for wings or ribs but nothing drastic.

I've blown the fuck up lately every weekend. In fact my willpower has started to slip earlier in the week, I'm only making it to thursday now

Gained like 2 pounds and all my lifts are going up but I'm getting fatter. FML

I'm eating things I avoided in the last 3-5 years during the weekends. It's got to slow down! :o

Yeah, weekends usually suck is because I usually wake up a bit later, and eat out all the time to get away from home.

However, my wife works saturdays a lot so I get lunch all to myself. It is a lot easier to stick to the plan that way and plan Saturday night as a cheat meal.

Sat-Sun my protein intake is usually lower. Past couple months I've been socially drinking. Diet is still clean, but not as clean during the week.

Before last weekend I hadn't had a "non-planned" meal day in over 3 months. Three simple steps.

    #1 don't drink
#2 Get up relatively early--within an hour of when you'd be up for work
    #3 pre-plan/pre-cook/prepare your meals
(if you have sat and sundays meals planned, cooked, prepared and waiting for you in the fridge, you are less likely to say, "i'll just eat whatever and throw away the food i've already made.)

The astute among us, will notice how interwoven these three are. Its hard to get up early if you drank the night before. Its hard to eat your reg meals at reg intervals if you randomly sleep it off till noon or later. And then you are't sure what time you are going to bed that night so you don't know how to space the meals. On the other hand, if you get up within an hour of your regular day, it makes it easier to know when to eat your meals, get them all in, and stick to your regiment.

I'll even throw in a bonus #4, don't have a life :big grin:

all that being said, i'm gonna lighten up. More carbs, more drinks, more going out, more good times, less cardio.

But i'm still gonna be responsible and dedicated to a healthy diet. Just going to find a better workout/life equilibrium.
