and if so what? and what method of carry i.e. pocket, strap, boot, etc..?

Obviously at distance this would be no substitute for a pistol, but do you any of carry a knife in lieu of a pistol?

I tend to wear tighter fitting clothes, and knives are simply more concealable.

I've taken a couple knife courses, and they still scare the crap out of me. BUT I do know how to work with one. I mainly carry my knives for utility purposes, but they're jsut a tool, and could be used for defense too. Benchmade Griptilians for me.

the LAST thing i want to do, is come up against someone INTENT on hurting me with a knife.

however, given a life or death situation (granted a perceptive person should never find themselves in one of these) i.e. multiple attackers, i believe a knife could level the playing field.

I love everything about the knife. But once I took it apart to clean it, it was never the same....

My friend had the same knife, different model, and had the same problem when he took it apart.

The lock will work occassionaly and just seems slower when opening..

So if you get, don't take it apart...

I carry around a serated Gerber Paraframe II that I got cause I'd broken my cheap knife's blade throwing it, but I only do that as something to kill time, not enemies/attackers. My knife is for boxes and packaging.

I got a cheapo from Academy. I'm on a college campus so I couldn't carry a handgun if I wanted to so I got this for when I'm out late walking around. Especially since I'm in ghetto-ass Flint, I'd like a little something to at least make myself feel a little bit more level.

I always carry a knife, but never intend for it to be anything more than a tool. I've got some Fox Labs for self defense if the need should arise, and hopefully that would prevent the possibility of any assault with a deadly weapon charges and such.

I carry my knife daily for the purpose of a "tool" but if thats all I had and needed to defend myself I would use it.

You wont get an assualt with a deadly weapon but you will get assualt with a caustic chemical..which if i remember correctly is also a felony :(

Friend got hassled/attacked by a hobo/crackhead in the tender loin in SF....he sprayed him with mace, didn't work still came at him, so he started pushing him with his skate board (don't believe he even smacked him in the head with it or anything) and guess who got arrested and is going to court tomorrow? :greddy: I HATE san francisco's bullshit.

I carry my Benchmade clipped in my pants pocket all the time, cause I only keep my handgun in the car. I don't use it for much, but it's nice knowing it's there if I need it, since it's no inconvenience to carry like a gun is.
If things went to hell, it's something that could cause quick and potentially devastating damage easier than my hands/feet could.

Assault with a caustic chemical? To the rest of America, that's called a fart. Fuck California. You both should move to America.

I have the Flash 2, its a great knife, excellent blade with a solid lock and the assisted opening is incredible. The zytel handle is great in saving weight and balancing the knife and it holds up really well, the back of the handle is a bit flimsy feeling though. It is also a bit big for daily carry especially compared to the CRKT I carry now, and I used to get some shocked/scared looks when I used it in front of clients. All in all though a great knife.
