I recently picked up a BT mouse and the tracking is choppy as shit and the damn cursor is all over my screen. Using a MBP, so does the aluminum shell just give a shitty BT connection or is this what to expect from all BT mice?

Yeah, it all works great for me. It has a tiny bit of a lag, but it's not choppy at all. If you've got an Apple Store around you, go there and ask if you can demo a BT Mighty Mouse. They'll grab one for you to try out.

My BT Mighty Mouse is working fine for me on my Mac mini. Could be your MBP or could be your mouse that's fucking up. Try a different BT mouse? :dunno:

Now that I think of it...

Do you have a wireless router right next to your MacBook Pro? They both use the 2.4 Ghz frequency and if the Airport is right next to it (or a 2.4 Ghz phone) it could cause interference, which might cause problems

Oh ok, so it's an issue everywhere. Yeah, I'd say try bringing it to the Apple Store and test drive their BTMM

I used to think this as well, but lately my batteries have been lasting about a month long. I have a glass desk, and I used to sometimes leave the mouse on the glass surface instead of the pad, and it would somehow eat up the batteries. And i'm using some no name brand batteries I bought at Fry's.

    :ugh:

A month is SHIT battery life, bro. The batteries in all of the wireless optical mice I've had from Microsoft and Logitech last about 3-5 months.

I last changed my batteries in my Logitech mouse about a year ago. Granted I don't use it too often, but it's still working

Maybe I should just get some Energizers then. Those no-names were like $3 for a 20 pack or something like that.

I have one Logitech mouse that is that way. I've had it for like three years and I've changed batteries in it twice.

The Mighty Mouse fucking SUCKS for battery life. Clearly there are absolutely zero power saving features in it.

i had one of those BT mighty mice with an MBP and i couldn't stand it. the lag, even though it was fairly slight, drove me up a wall. i never bothered with any other BT mouse, but if they all had that lag i couldn't use them.
