worked up to 555 X 3 and my back held up....for those of you who don't know I have been trying to recover from a bad l4/l5 disc injury from a car wreck last november. I had only intended to work up to 315 or so but I felt strong from all the reverse hypers I have been doing so I worked up and hit triples at 505 and 555. I got adjusted after mma tonight and i feel great. I am going in for tractioning before I fight.

Just felt like posting that since I know a coulple of you are going through this shit with your backs right now. There is hope....

Should he be swinging like that?

Also, I've only just started doing SLDLs and I'm getting fatigued in my lower, middle back very fast and I'm doubled over after each set so I haven't gone heavy at all yet. 30mins later I'm fine again and the next day I can feel some (good) tightness in my hamstrings, though that's also from my leg curls. My lower back doesn't seem to have any affects the next day.

Am I doing something wrong or do I just need to work on my hypers for a while to strengthen up for the sldl?

the first time i ever deadlifted was last week. following 4 days, i was walking around looking like i had something up my ass.

those reverse hypers look interesting, what group of muscle(s) they work out? and will they help me out with my squat/deadlifts?

on the seminar dave said that its pretty much the most difficult movement to recreate

as far as back recuperation ive heard some pretty amazing stuff about what the reverse hyper has done.

also another thing i saw on elite about back rehab for you ghb

    http://asp.elitefts.com/qa/default.asp?qid=32352&tid=70

youre probably past that point though in your recovery but who knows

You mean people actually fight you in MMA tournaments? I'd take one look and drop dead.

I got my homemade monster sled ;) and I do my share of dragging, I just never got much out of it rehab wise....I will say that ankle drags pretty much put 100 pounds on my squat when I started doing them a couple years ago.

I bought the elitefts dvd "reactive methods" just for the simple fact that they show you haow to traction your joints with the jumpstrecth bands. I would definately recommend that as it is what keeps me able to lift most days.

anyway i am taking pics once a week right now because I am leaning up and I want something to compare to. I weighed 271 this morning and here is the pic:

I don't look bulky or super big in most pictures becasue I have big joints and bad bodybuilding genes.
