I'd like to, just for the idea of a grip, not to mention other things. I just think i'd like to get away from the entry level camera and step up into a more prosumer style camera.

    Discuss.

I don't know if I would call the d70 entry level, but rather just older technology. Some people compare it to the 20d. My rebel on the other hand... ;) I'm waiting for any announcements before Feb's PMA

D70 is still a fine camera. Do you seriously need any of the feature improvements or do you just have upgradeitis?

A newer camera won't help you take better photos unless there's a clear technical limitation in your current camera.

the d70 is a fine camera, but yes I do have upgradeitis and i'll also have some tuition reimbursement money coming my way here soon so I figured why not while I have the money? :dunno:

I like the 5fps shooting, the wireless shooting (will be great for work) and the ability to have a grip. To some that may not be the best set of reasons to spend $900, but who said all decisions have to have rational reasoning behind them?

Is the "wireless shooting" the thing that loads pics via wifi? if so my friend got a D2X for that same reason but found out you had to buy some optional shit for it to do so...and it wasnt cheap

do you need the MP to print large(r) pics?
do you shoot in shitty weather?
do you shoot continuous shots alot?
do you shoot subjects where the camera has to be on for long periods of time?

if you answered no to 3 of those, you probably don't NEED to upgrade. the money could be spent on a lens :dunno:

I never said I NEEDED to upgrade, I just wanted to. If you had money coming to you and you had this option, would you do it? <--the main question.

3rd party and with a IR wire = lame. also, I believe that takes away my ability to use my remote.

yes, you can immediate shoot and upload to a server/computer via available wifi (which my work will be doing next year).

The guy I bought my D70 from was upgrading to a D200 (but sold it to me 2 months before they came out :))

People upgrade. Helps the American consumer founded economy. I say go for it. hehe :)
