I will have over 1000 hours flying next week, and I was all excited to get my senior aviator badge. So i looked into it to make sure it could get it, but fuck no, 7 years I need as a rated aviator. Thats some bullshit if I ever heard it. It really doesn't matter I guess but i'm all about new shit to put on my uniform.

    Sorry man :hs:

I know as far as the Air Force goes, the reg states that it's a combination of hours and years of aviation service. It was actually a pretty complicated reg/table to try and figure out. Of course, I have a measely 150 hours, all training so far, so I've got a ways to go before I get any of that stuff.

Well i'm pretty lucky with my unit that i get to fly almost everyday. It took me two years to become fully mission qualified. Now its another 3 years till i can be flight lead. The training here is kind of ridiculous. I wouldn't want to do anything else though.

i know how you feel about long training programs. i've been flying for over 2.5 years and i'm not even initially qualified yet. it'll probably be another full year before i'm mission qual'd. the most frustrating part is that due to some administrative incompetence, i haven't flown in over a year, and due to our current maintenance problems, it'll be at least another 4 months before i get in the air again.
