I just ordered it for my apartment since I can not see the South from my apartment I can not get Direct TV. (Wanted Direct TV more)

Does anyone have Dish? How is it? Likes? Dislikes?

    Thanks!

    Your probably right ;)

I spoke with Direct TV and they told me I would need a Due-South Line of Site. When I spoke to Dishnet they told me I needed a SouthWest Line of site which I do have (Or pretty close), plus I wouldn't be charged if Dish couldn't get a signal. (Unlike Direct TV)

So I figure I am not losing anything on this.

Was the DishPVR extra? How much? Thanks!

Cool.. I'm excited about it. I just want to be able to watch sports and TV from different Regs. Plus having better choices of programs will be a total +.

Now I just need to get my 36 XBR

I'm trying to decide between the two companies. Anyone know which one is better. I heard they were going to merge eventually.

    Yep, never went through.
If DirecTV didn't work for you, DISH Network is even less likely. Both have to face in the same direction, but the angle of DISH is even flatter than that of DirecTV, so clearance is even more of an issue.

Sorry but DirectTV got rid of all the hackable cards on their network, the new one (i think it is the P4) has not been able to be hacked

I don't know where the satelites are in that region of the country but I do know people in Oklahoma that have aimed to the Canadian sats and been able to pull a signal.

Yeah you actually have to build a connection cable with a parrallel port connection on one end and bare wire on the other, you then (in most situations i've seen) have to open up the reciever and solder it onto the mainboard, so don't mess that up.

i love dishnetwork. the 921 HD rec is still a little buggy, but hooked up to an OTA antenna with the dish HD package - probably one of the best HD selections available (other than voom).
their PVRs good, but can't really compare to something like replaytv...
plus they have hardcore porn ppv channels
