    Hello all..

    I would assume that this is a pretty straight forward question for you computer folks, but here goes...

    I want to disable my Quicktime 5.0.2 on the Start up. Usually, when I right click an icon in the start-up tray there is an option to disable start up. However, this program is breaking my balls and would easily give me the option to do this!!

    What should I do? Do I need to edit the registry? Could someone please offer me instructions to do this??

    All help is appreciated!

    Run far far away from quicktime. use 'quicktime alternative' instead ... 'real alternative' is good alternate to real player files as well... ok

    registry editing:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER->SOFTWARE->MICROSOFT->WINDOWS->CURRENTVERSION->RUN

    Also HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> ...

    qttask or whatever... just delete it.

    Quick time has kind of a wierd preference menu - you change the pages via a drop down box - should be in there somewhere.

    It's an option when you right-click the icon in the tray.

    Control Panel->QuickTime
    Drop down menu select Browser Plug-In and uncheck QuickTime system tray icon
    You're done.
