doesnt mean you need to eat dirty to gain weight.

the ecto card is an EXCUSE...If you think any more of it than you've already lost.

I don't use it as an excuse. Just frustrates me when people totally shun the idea of it I guess.

you have to man... You cant let something so simple to overcome feel like a weight on your shoulders. litteraly 4 tbsp of peanut butter a day is the difference between gaining and maintaining.

135 is what I weigh now at around 5'9-5'10. I started a simple 3 day routine based around Bench/Deadlift/Squats a year ago but got side tracked. Thinking about picking it up again. I have no idea what my fat/muscle percentages are currently. I wouldn't mind simply being a little heavier around 150 or so. As far as diet goes, I realized I don't bring in enough calories. Pushing 3000 daily was a bit of a challenge.

well man, i started around 145 and got to 180-185 over 4-6 months, did it cleanly, then moved on to 210 and so on.

You could easily reach your goal within a few months of strict diet. I was eating 3800-4200 cals a day EVERY day, cleanly when i made my biggest changes. If it was easy man, everyone would be on stage...

I can't find a way to bulk that is affordable. It seems like I could spend $600 a month on food to get 3500+ cals per day.

Any tips? I don't eat peanut butter, but I eat peanuts and other nuts..

    for anyone...

If you eat the same amount of food you normally do and add those extra tbsp you'll gain weight... if you're 300 or 150

bulking isnt affordable unless you are strictly bulking with cheap processed dirty foods and still your food costs are up. Price you gotta pay.. literally

I just got back from Sam's Club. Here's typical clean food that isn't expensive:

    9 lbs of Quaker oats - $6.88
    15 dozen eggs - $15.60
    4 lbs of broccoli - $4.88
    20 cans of tuna - $11.72
    3 lbs of cottage cheese - $4.58
    12 lbs chicken breast - $25.76
    5 lbs vegetable blend - $5.62
    6 green peppers - $3.42

Seems pretty cheap to me :dunno:

offtopic but how much is a tablespoon for peanut butter? is it just enough to fill the spoon or just dig a tablespoon in like it was ice cream?

Sweet, so I can effectively bulk @ 380 Calories over maintenance/day.

What kind of massive gains we talking here? 1lb lbm/year?

Even though the question wasn't directed at me I can give you some food choices that are clean that I'm using to try to put on mass. Granted, I would get fat as hell on 4000 calories, but I'm eating 2900 cals 3 days a week with these foods and I still find myself to be hungry throughout the day.

    Oats
    Maltomeal
    Grits
    Ground beef
    Eggs
    Almonds
    Brown Rice
    Salmon
    Sweet potatoes
    Cottage Cheese
    Chicken
