I really should know the answer to this, butt.... (I'm in a punny mood)
Is it true that if you use a rubber dildo anally (like say with a strapon) that fecal metter will become stuck in the little rubber pores and never come out? If so, does this cause a risk of infection if you were to use if vaginally? I'm very clean and always soak my toys in 1:100 bleach after use, but somebody said that even that can't get into the pores and remove the gunk. Do the SO and I need to designate bum and cooter dildos?

If the fecal matter can get into the pores theres no reason the bleach wouldn't also be able to.

I love edenfantasys. They have great stuff, but the're product discriptions, and their other info really takes the cake over other sites as well. I really like their size-ing methods too, it helps with the "how the fcuk and I supposed to get THAT in me" moment when you open the box.

Oh, and def. glass toys ftw. I got a new one a few months ago and now there are absolutly no worries of bacteria, etc. I can even put it in the dishwasher (if I had one...)

To answer your question in the simplest terms. All non-sterilizable toys will pick up and if given the chance spread bacteria. Fecal or other.

Which toys can be sterilized - glass/pyrex and some higher grade 100% silicone toys.

What to do about it. Short of having a separate toy for anal and vaginal play and separate ones for each partner; use a condom over the toy whether you are using it analy or vaginally and not have to worry about it. You start out with a "clean" toy each time you use it.

I thought that plastic toys were good too since they're non-poreous? Or was I wrong on that....

Problem is that "plastic" toys are porous.

I'm not talking about the soft flexible plastic ones... but the hard ones. The woman at the toy store told me they didn't need condoms because they were non-porous... maybe she was wrong?
