wondering how long batteries usually last on a digicam.. picked my first one up a few weeks ago (Pentax Optio 43WR) which takes 2 AA's, and the battery life is absolute crap. Seriously, the batteries will die after taking maybe 10 pics max and with approx. 5 min. of uptime (includes reviewing pics/changing settings/taking pics) over a period of a week. its pissing me off cause i got the camera for its durability and waterproofness, and will be taking it with me on some very long wilderness trips and i dont want to have to backpack with 20 pounds of AA batteries to power this damn thing

My SD100 is a lithium and it will hold a charge for the weekend of easy use. Usually a full day of steady use.

I was told that a lithium batter should be replaced twice in a 4 year period, does this sound right?
