A&P Diffuser for SB-600... what can I get?

I'm finding on a lot of surfaces that this flash is pretty harsh even when bounced. Will any $20 diffuser from a camera store work? What should I look for?

Mainly wanting to shoot people, but will obviously use it for other stuff.

actually im gonna run today and get it at the camera store. it's $20 + tax which sucks, but to save like a lousy $8 from the net isn't worth it to wait

I got the el-cheapo "Stofen" from eBay. I hope to meet somebody with a real one so I can find out how they compare.

    samples?

i found my SB-800 pretty foolproof in TTL; im having a harder time figuring our my new canon 430.

have them at home. TTL was blowing faces out. Could be the surface I was bouncing off, I dunno.

When I shot my 2 cats with TTL in the other room, I think I adjusted it maybe 1/3 up or down and they looked good.

    It's fun learning though.

i've honestly never needed a diffuser, except for maybe fill flash outdoors. I lost the dome my SB800 came with, and broke the wide angle flap/adapter so the bounce card wouldnt work anymore, either, but i was able to get by by bouncing it off of walls [i shoot mostly indoors] and just adjusting the flash EC.
