For those of you who have taken photos of people outdoors, what type of diffuser do you use for your fill flash.. or do you even use one?

    i have the following diffusers:
    lumiquest promax system
    stofen omnibounce
    gary fong lightsphere II

or would you just bust out an index card and rubber band. gonna take pics of my friend outdoors during sunset, need some fill flash.

I use a 4' x 4' piece of white foamcore and bounce light off of it. I also use umbrellas and portable gold and/or silver reflectors.

However in the past, if I'm simply shooting quick shots and need to move quickly I put a piece of white tissue paper over the flash head.

They're all good in one way or another. The nice thing about digital photography is that you can experiment and instantly see what works best for a particular lighting condition.
