Anyone notice any difference in pressing the different type of dumbbells?

I've seen at different gyms they have db's that are the standard 1" ring db's wrapped in that rubber stuff, then there's the "Iron Grip" brand type db's, and just the standard 1" ring db's.

For me, the Iron Grip put me in my place. :wtc:
Just wondering if anybody else notices a difference or is my pussy just hurting?

I like the standard vs the rubber ones. If I happen to touch with the rubber ones they bounce back way to much plus the grip on the rubber ones is a lot wierder to me.

Problem is if I want to go above 100 I have to use the rubber ones.

I got the Iron Grip ones, and love them. I press so much more using those than the first ones

ours are these complete metal ones, but none of the ones listed. they're so fucking annoying, whenever they touch they ring... and keep on ringing for like 30 seconds. fuckin obnoxious.

Iron grip is the best to me, the weight has a much smaller profile so it's not so awkward.

:werd: but if they made 2" that would be even better.

Hex weights are only good for cutting the ends off and making grip tools out of them.

I'm wondering if they weigh less then the numbers on them? The weights all my old gym all metal and felt much heavier dunno why.

my gym has rubber coated IVANKOS for 5's to 75's. they have various 25's, 20's of those iron grips. and then metal ones (like the first pic) going from 80-150, and if I remember correctly they are ivankos.

the thing I noticed is that the ivankos are always a little more heavier than the iron grips. I think ivanko doesn't count the grip as part of the weight, unlike iron grip. and on top of that the ivankos have a thinner grip which make it weird for people with larger hands. the iron grips have a nicer, thicker grip.
