Im gonna be getting a new bike in the next couple of weeks and ive narrowed the choices down to either an 07 GSXR 600 or a CBRR 600. Im leaning more towards the suzuki than the honda, but im still not sure which one i would rather have. I love the design of the suzuki and they have a good deal on em here. I dont like the exhaust on the honda, i was told that any passenger would get a hot butt pretty quick riding on the back.

I dont really race, Im just looking to ride around town with it. What are the pros/cons of each of these, also what about the R6/ZX6R?

    Thanks

I've got an 07 GSXR 600, it's a damn good bike and I like it a lot. That said, a buddy of mine has an 07 CBR600RR that he thinks is the best thing to come along since the Vespa.

I think the CBR won the last 600cc shootout I saw in a magazine, for whatever that's worth. They're both very good bikes, pick the one you like best for comfort/styling and have fun.

i keep hearing about the clutches on the GSXR being harder to work with than say the CBR. And that the GSXR has no real power til you get higher in the rpms.

Yeah funny thing is the GSXR isn't your bike, dumbass, the SV sure. Jay's full of shit, oh and another thing that "friend" of yours doesn't even have his motorcycle license and it's his 2nd bike.

They're pretty close as a far as performance, which most of us won't be able to take advantage of anyway. Just buy which ever bike you like better. I'm more bias toward Honda bikes, they're traditionally more stable and far steering geometry "feel".

The performance differences of each is negligible, anyone who says otherwise is either a fanboy or using a micrometer. Each bike has its own nuances/nuisances which ultimately level the field.

Since your commuting, pick whichever is most comfortable. Any branding or manufacturer specific issues can be rectified with a few aftermarket parts.

I don't own one, but if I had to choose I'd get a 636 before any of the other 600cc class and that's my official answer.

a hot butt? I'd rather ride with a passenger that has a hot butt than a burnt leg. that was one of the reasons I got my 600RR.

Personally feel the 07 CBR600RR has better ergonomics. Also, who cares about the passenger, go solo tail :big grin:

yeah i mean you gotta get whatever fits you and you feel most comfortable on.

if you put me on a 636 or zx6r or even an 07 r6 i feel out of place, the kawi is pretty hefty and tall.

the gixxer or rr however i feel just perfect on, but others feel like giants on em.

Both are good bikes. Just get whatever feels comfortable. Let us know what you finally decide.

I say go with the CBR. When the 07 came out I didn't even consider any other 600. Also, the exhaust will NOT get anything hot. I have an 03-06 integrated taillight inches away from the pipe and even after a long ride you can still touch it with your hand. Like everyone said go sit on/ride both and go with what fits you best...Hope these help you out :bigthumb:

Get a scooter. Only riding it around town is what a poser would do. You don't want to be thought of as a poser, do you?

You can only use model years 00-03 for riding in city, 04-06 are ok for freeways, and just taking on long trips. 07 & newer are to only be used for track racing.

    The more you know.

Perhaps something more than riding .5 miles at a time going from starbucks to starbucks (or bar to bar if that's his thing)?
