difference between carb sources ie. rice, pasta, potatoes, etc.

    is there any difference between carb sources like is it bad if i eat pasta everyday or should i mix it up with rice and potatoes?

    i've heard that regular pasta has empty calories, what does that mean?

    There's no such thing as empty calories. pasta has a lot of protein.

    Empty calories is in something like beer where there is a lot of calories but no nutrients, protein etc

    so why do we have shit like whole wheat pasta? i know there is something "bad" about regular pasta i just can't remember what it is.

    the "bad" things are less fiber, less protein, higher GI, less vitamins/minerals, more processed

    but really, it doesn't matter, just eat what tastes good

    GI has a lot to do with it. Higher GI foods are considered 'bad' while lower ones are considered 'good'.

    I used to eat regular pasta but then I got really fat. I switched to whole wheat and it was like I was on steroids. I got cut up with only two servings!

    Carbs are metabolized in the body in the same way no matter what the source, the only difference in carb sources such as whole wheat bread and white bread are the vitamins and minerals not present in the white bread.
