I'm not too concerned about gaining mass. I'm more concerned about losing the fat in my chest and abdominal region for now. Here's my workout routine and average daily diet:

    Diet:

    Meal 1:
Plate of fruits (cantaloupe, pineapple, red grapes...all fresh)
    1/2 cup 4% cottage cheese
    1-1.5 cup scrambled egg beaters

    Post-workout (MWF):
1 scoop whey with a glass of skim milk

    Meal 2:
    Turkey sammich on wheat
    Some kind of fruit

    Meal 3:
Sometimes I'll repeat meal 2, but lately I've been skipping this meal or just eating some fruit.

    Meal 4:
    Plate of salad
Protein source (chicken usually) equivalent of 2 chicken breasts

    Workout:

    Tuesday:
    DB bench 3x10
    DB incline bench 3x10
    DB flys 3x10
    Preacher curl 3x10
    Seated curl 3x10
    Hammer curl 3x10

Alternatives: conventional bench, cable crossovers, db decline bench

    Thursday:
    Deadlift 3x10
    Seated row 3x10
    Wide grip pulldown 3x10
    Skullcrusher/CG bench superset 3x10
    tricep pulldown 3x10
    kickbacks 3x10

    Alternatives: french press

    Saturday:
    Squat 3x10
    Leg curl 3x10
    Standing Calf raises 3x10
    db Shoulder press 3x10
    Side/Front raises 3x10
Shrugs 3x10 (some argue this should be on back day, but whatever)

    Alternatives: lunges, reverse db fly

Considering my goals, what do you guys think?

Don't eat cantaloupes with other fruits. Cantaloupes/water melons/etc. don't mix well with other fruits and should be eaten alone.

And Hell even if you ignore the fact that he's taking melons with other fruits, he's still eating melons in the same meal as cheese.

    http://www.healthy.net/scr/article.asp?ID=397 :

    Melons Are Incompatible With:

    Grains
    Starch
    Fried foods
    Cheese

    http://www.healingdaily.com/detoxification-diet/food-combining.htm

[font=Georgia, Times New Roman, Times, serif][size=+1]8. Eat melons alone. Melons combine with almost no
    other food.

    http://www.ayurveda.com/online%20resource/food_combining.pdf

the chart on page 2 mentions that melons should always be eaten alone.

    etc. etc.

Just shut the fuck up. #1. You just started working out and you have no fucking clue what to eat. #2. Youre baseing what foods to combine or not on ayurveda? Why don't you try balancing your yellow bile, blood, phlegm and black bile to gain eternal life?? Holy fuck.

Ok buddy, calm the fuck down. I'm just sharing what I've found. How about you link me to a website that says it's fine to eat melons with anything else? Jeez, even if I am wrong, how about simply proving otherwise instead of acting like a goddamn jackass?

I think that you should get rid of or put something in the place of kickbacks. You already have a lot of triceps in there and kickbacks suck.

Any statement as seemingly absurd as your first statement needs to be qualified and proven, not the other way around.

I gave links, all he did was bash me. He could have simply explained to me how it's wrong and given links stating the contrary and everything would have been fine, I don't mind if I'm wrong and I'll gladly accept being corrected, I just can't stand it when someone immediately goes on bashing you because he thinks he's oh so good.

kinda an interesting reply. Why dont you just come out and admit that the only reason you go to the gym is to possible catch a glimpse of some dudes in the showers?
