So I went to see an allergist today, for the first time. I originally went in to get some food allergy testing done to see if that was causing my acne problems.

Off the bat, the doctor suggested I have too high of testosterone and that was causing acne/stress. I told him no such thing.

Anyway, I received a plethora of "scratch tests" to determine what I am allergic to, and why I have constant sinusitis and why my asthma suddenly got bad out of nowhere last year. The allergies may also explain the slight digestive problems I have.

Most of my severe allergies are environmental stuff, but I still have mild/moderate food allergies. He suggested I do a "food challenge" diet and remove all foods I am allergic to. Then, after 3 weeks I can re-introduce a food one at a time and see how I feel. If I feel shitty from it, remove it forever. If I feel fine, I can keep it.

List of things I need to not eat for the next 3 weeks:
    - Any dairy product including whey protein. I need to somehow find a non-dairy and non-soy protein. Any tips guys?
    - Soybeans
    - Peanuts and Peanut butter. Super fucking pissed about this! I eat at least 4 tablespoons of PB a day.
    - Beef. Told the doc straight up, this wasn't going to happen. I plan to keep this in my diet even if it kills me.
    - Turkey. I don't eat this very much anyway so need to take it out. Thanksgiving will be the obvious exception of when I break this.
    - Tuna. Don't eat this very much, so it can't be the problem. I will however have to take out fish oil pills.
    - Corn. Don't eat it much anyway.
    - Hops and yeast. Doc said to stay away from beer and wine. I plan to stay away from wine.
    - Broccoli. I was surprised about this one. I eat it often and usually feel fine.
    - Tomato. I really only eat them in pizza and on pasta sauce... which I have maybe once a week anyway. I doubt this is causing any problems.
    - Almonds. Super fucking pissed about this one too. I eat almonds regularly. Sliced ones in my oats, whole ones as snacks, and almond butter on toast and in oats.

So yeah, I need to formulate a diet around these restrictions for the next 3 weeks. Gonna suck! Luckily I am cutting so that should make it a bit easier since I'll have to be picky regardless.

The no dairy, no PB, and no almonds are going to be ROUGH though.

Also getting bloodwork done to check for any immune-deficiencies that might be causing the severe environmental allergies and re-surfacing asthma.

Pics of my after getting my pricks. A large red hive means I am allergic to that thing which I was pricked with:

Yeah, when I saw a "zero" there (the allergy is measured by severity of 1-4) I was quite happy.

My beef allergy is only a "1" though, and I still plan to eat that. Woulda done the same with chicken too.

that's the only fucking thing he CAN eat. jesus christ

There's a rice protein supplement that you can get at health food stores. Apparently it can give you constipation and gas so you might want to take some Metamucil too if that's permitted.

there are quite a few complete veggie protein sources out there. The problem with grabbing one that's just pea, just wheat or whatever else is - you're not going to get a complete protein.

It's expensive as shit, but i was training with a vegan guy this summer who's doing great on it.

Keep in mind most vegetable sources besides soy are shit quality, so if you're going to eat more veggie proteins you need to compliment them with other foods.

I'm not sure if "powders" have other amino acids added to try to improve their AA profile but i wouldn't just count on it and make sure before I start downing them.

edit: I see bacchus beat me to it

I used to eat my cereal with this stuff called almond milk...it's unrefridgerated. But since you can't eat almonds that won't work. Have no idea about a milk sub.

I would just supplement with meat and then take a calcium pill. :dunno:

Thanks for the tip man. I'll look into that. I have also heard that some protein powders are made from egg whites. This true?
I plan to stop by FitRX today and see what they have.
