Did you play the Uncharted Demo and decide to skip the game?

Because I sure did and I have talked to others who did the same thing as me. I got my PS3 at the end of 07 and Uncharted was winning Game of the Year in many places. I figured it had to be good, but didnt want to just buy it - figured I'd check out the demo first and I was less than impressed...it just seemed bland....no better way to put it. I didnt have fun with the demo and basically just put Uncharted on my "merrrr" list of games I'd never bother with.

Now 2 years later, I've heard enough raving about Uncharted 2 that I decided I want to check it out - I was told that playing the first one was a must not only because of the story, but because it's one of the best games on PS3 and I was a fool to skip it in the first place...which always shocked me to hear because of how little the demo interested me.....

So, I decided I'd pick up the first one since it's only 20-30 bucks and figured if I got into the story and the game and beat it, I'd get 2. If I couldnt get into it, it wasnt a huge investment. I really wasnt expecting much to be honest, after not enjoying the demo I figured maybe I'd force myself through it so I could get to 2 which I'm told is even better...

Let me tell you something friends....Sony fucked up when they made the Uncharted demo...this game is absolutely great and I would have never bothered with it if I based it purely on my thoughts after the demo. I can't believe I waited this long to play this game.

I just wanted to spread the word to those of you who did the same thing as I did. I know I've heard others say the same thing about this game, that the demo did nothing for them so they never bothered with it....I'm really glad I gave it another shot because the story and the gameplay are both incredible. I'm sure I'm going to fly through this one and get to 2 soon.

Cliffs: If you downloaded the Uncharted demo and decided to skip the game because you didnt enjoy it, you might want to go out and buy the game...the demo does NOT do it justice.

Uncharted is not a necessity to play before U2 but both games are stellar

No? I just figured to know the characters and the basis of the story might be important for the 2nd game.

Oh well - I'm glad I grabbed this one first either way. Definitely loving it!

Uncharted is awesome, until you starting shooting. Firefights in that game are kind of boring. :sad2: I kind of wish the entire game was the first 20 minutes.

This makes me happy to hear, Naughty Dog really deserves every sale they can get. Enjoy one of the greatest franchises ever! Oh and a few words of advice - once you get to the 2nd game you'll be tempted to rush through it in one sitting. Do not give in to this urge. Take your time with it, and enjoy every single moment. I'd give anything to play it through for the first time again... Sigh.

I bought Uncharted out of good reviews and while decent, it was overrated.

your cliffs are something most everyone said when it actually came out, the demo did nothing to help sell the game. the game shows its greatness as a whole, not just a demo.

I did the exact same thing you did :o

After hearing all the great things about Uncharted 2 I asked for it for my bday in November, got it, and now I have to go back and get the first still.

Can't wait to be able start playing them.

I played through it in 3 sittings! Just beat it last night, very good game....still can't believe I slept on it so long. That demo really screwed the pooch.

I don't do that with games anymore....rarely play that long in a row but I kept wanting to see the next part of the story and next thing I know the credits were rolling.

Is Uncharted 2 better than this one?
I'm going to pick it up very soon.

:werd: the only thing i can complain about in Uncharted 2 is that the platforming sections of the game are fairly linear as in there's only one way to climb that wall to get to that platform. It's not even a big deal. It really isn't. The sheer amount of detail, depth, action, and awesomeness that they have fit into Uncharted 2 is unbelievable. The game didn't get 24 perfect scores for nothing.

Easily one of the greatest games I've ever played.

I have the 2nd one. I haven't played it yet. I will more than likely start this week, after I finish my first season of Madden 10.

I played the demo and didn't buy because I can't stand 3rd person shooters. I want to play it because it looks awesome but I'm afraid I won't be able to get past the 3rd person part
