They're selling one of their places in FL and when I was down there over X-mas she asked me to take pictures for a brochure and website they're putting together.

How'd I do :dunno: Feel free to lay in with the C&C, this isn't really what I'm used to doing, but figured I'd give it a shot. Can't go back and reshoot at all, but some tips for "next time" are certainly welcome.

Nice... we have the same tile in our house, except with a high polish. Pics should drive a lot more traffic to the sale, if you look at listings around here, most pictures look like they were taken with a 10 yr old disposable camera

    Wirelessly posted via wap.offtopic.com (E71: Opera/9.50 (J2ME/MIDP; Opera Mini/4.1.11355/574; U; en))

Naples. They've got a nice big house in a golf course community and this townhouse for guests and 'business' (stepdad had a nice office set up there which has been relocated to a real office building now). I like this townhouse more than the house worth 5x more :hs:

You did an excellent job of balancing the interior with the outside view. Something that most people would really mess up. Also did a good job of showing off the house. Saw a few shots that could be straightened.

A key in real estate is floor space. You gotta make the place look roomy and the same goes for showings. Rugs and things should be removed so that your eye loses as much ability to judge dimensions as possible.

Your pictures are pretty good, especially the kitchen, bathroom, and that indoor patio room i think. My dad is in real estate and he was showing me pictures of a "professional photographer" that he pays $300 for taking pictures of the listed houses and your pictures are close to his. My dad is trying to get me into taking pictures of houses now. Shit, might be a good side job.

looks good! My only negative comments would be to watch the color balance on your first two shots as they don't match. It looks like you used a flash on the first shot.

The other comment is the shadows on the ceiling from the fans are distracting. Try bouncing your flash off a reflector behind you or to one side of the camera instead of the ceiling.

Thanks Jim, actually the first two I did some exposure blending (dare say HDR :o ) and you're right, I'm thinking about pulling it back a few notches (but only one of those pictures will be used anyway). My mom actually emailed me back saying she liked the second one the best BECAUSE of the effect :wtc:

And the ceiling fan shadows made me angry too but I couldn't figure out how to get rid of them. I had a 580 w/ stofen on camera and a 430 off (that I didn't use except as experimentation), but still couldn't smooth it out. Even spinning the head against a different wall gave me shadows :wtc:

Color and exposure look great (seriously, nice job on getting the light nice and even indoors), but the distortion from wide angle shooting is pretty bad. And you've got crazy posterization in the clouds in the first outdoor shots, which is probably from your PP.

Take a small piece of black wrap or black cardboard and use it to block the top of the stofen. You want soft diffused light to light the room, but not necessarily the ceiling. However I still think that you'll get better results from bouncing your flash off of a reflector or large piece of white foamcore. The larger surface will soften and diffuse the light to the point where you won't have sharp shadows.
