    .17 worth of crayons :coold:

Then covered it over with some CLP. Was going to do Testor's model paint but that was too costly and a pain as opposed to just doing the crayon technique.

    Very clean!

Can you elaborate on the crayon technique? I always thought it would leave some sort of residue where you could see what you did.

Take crayon and push down very hard rubbing back and forth pushing it into the etching.

You'll have a good amount of crayon on the top of the receiver but no worries.

Get a Q-Tip with CLP on it and go around cleaning it all up. Then wipe down with a towel.

    Voila!

Crayon? Sure it's cheap, but I don't think you're getting any substantial savings on time and I'd sure cast some doubt on permanency of what is basically wax jammed into the roll marks.

I just use nail polish, put a white coat under the red and its good. Plus it all comes off with a little nail polish remover. Let us know how the way method hold up.

i have had mine in for about a year now and they haven't faded, chipped, or melted. i've dragged my gun through some shit and they're still on there. i would not worry about heat, because most the heat is around the barrel and upper receiver
