And I think I have found my carry gun :o

I had a Glock 23 before, it was pretty damn snappy, and I didnt shoot that great with it so I never really though about owning another Glock. went to the range and put a good 300 rounds with my friends G19, and I was surprised how well I shot with it. Follow up shots were very fast, recoil was very little, very easy to point and acquire a sight picture. It was so much lighter than my 1911. My friend let me try it with his MTAC holster and it was like nothing is there. I thought the 1911 was pretty easy to carry, but its really like a night and day how much the difference is carrying the two. Not to mention 15+1. I was never concerned with the .45 vs 9mm bullshit everyone likes to make out so I think when I get my CPL I am going to carry the G19 full time.

ive been thinking of maybe doing some mods to my 19. id like some different sites but dont want to spend an arm and a leg on them.

also, do you guys like the lighter trigger option or is it better to leave the 5.5# one in it?

Whats the biggest capacity you can get in a magazine the size of the one pictured above me? 15 or 17?

i know :california:, but i'm curious and might have some old magazines in storage that i bought before 2000

have u installed sights on any of your glocks? I ordered some night sights and was wondering if I should invest in the sight pusher or just bring it to a smith for a quick swap.

Brief how-to on technique that doesn't lead to a completely destroyed dowel and an unmoved sight? :big grin: I've been wanting to pop the rear sight off my s&w 1076 for some time....

Not much to share, but the key is a "solid" table and clamping the slide on the table sandwhiched between two pieces of that plastic cutting board material to keep the slide from scratching and shifting.

The table is key, you don't want your slide to "bounce". And then making sure you drift it from left to right. (My older S&W 5904 was left to right, I had to remove it to disengage the stupid mag drop safety.)

    Doooo EEEEET!

I'll tell ya', the Smiths are a lot tougher than glocks, I can swap out my Glock sights between commercials while I'm watching TV. But the older smtihs can be stubborn (I've removed 3 Smiths sights) if your trying to move stock sights from a 10 year old pistol.

Now that I remember it, I had to use my "non marring" hammer directly on the sight to get it started to walk, then I tapped it out with the dowel and hammer, and I had to hit it with some WD40. It took awhile longer, but they came out clean. It went back on fast though.

    What kind of rear sights?

You never had issues with hammering on night sights and maybe damaging the tritium vials?

Let me be clear, I am NOT a Gunsmith. I could not give you an absolute guarantee that's what you pay a smith for.

I'm just saying I've done all my sights, and have been doing it for some time with good results.

I would do it for you, as a favor, under that caveat.
