Total was $2145 with a Canon Pixma printer. There's a hundred dollar rebate that comes with it too so total will be $2045.

So get this, I ordered it at 3:58 pm EST and I got to thinking, umm shit I just paid $121 in taxes and I'm in a state that borders New Hampshire, so no taxes there.

Lo and behold they have an applestore there, 2.5 hrs away, but I had nothing to do tonight and it would have saved me $70-80, after gas$, so I figured why not. Within 20 minutes of ordering I call up Apple to cancel the order; it gives you the option to cancel online but that didn't work.

So anyways I get some outsourced customer service agent and she goes onto to tell me no dice, it's already been processed and out for shipping.

I was a little pissed that I couldn't cancel within 20 friggen minutes of ordering so I talked to a supervisor, and yet again, no dice.

Shitty thing is, even though it processed within 20min, they still couldn't guarantee it would be shipped out today...

    Ahhh /rant.

Just wondering why they even give you the option of cancelling if you can't exercise it.

cliffs: wanted to save a few bucks and get 24"imac tonight instead of next week, apple shot my plane down.

Apple sent me the return labels for the iMac i ordered thru them which was nice. I took the time tonight to drive to new hampshire, 5 hr roundtrip with all the rain, and came back with a new 24" iMac and a printer, without paying tax :)

    I'm glad I saved about $130.

Moving on, this thing is huge, completely dwarfs my 20". This seems like the perfect size screen for image editing and whatnot. All in all, everything is the same on the outside.

Moving on, I took advantage of apples $100 printer rebate and picked up a HP Photosmart C3180 for $99 bucks, free after rebate. I was unpleasantly surprised when I called in about there not being a USB cable in the printer box. The rep told me they don't include them in many printers. Who woulda thunk it.

I didn't have a firewire so I couldn't transer my stuff from the old iMac onto the new one, I should invest in one.

Got mine yesterday. My first apple with twelve years PC before it.

My monitor hums a little bit but at least no dead pixels here and the imac is still light years more silent then my pc.

The first thing that bugged me was this mouse it was horrible so now Im using my MX1000 with this alternate USB driver because the logitech stuff was crap and didnt really work. Currently I'm a bit undecided if I like the keyboard or not. The typing feel is really good but Im used to a Microsoft Natural that had much more space.

And does anybody know if there is a way to disable this clearview thing? I played with the settings but couldnt turn it off completly.

i did listen to the top left and i could hear a slight hum but it's not really noticable. i live in the dorms and my roommate's pc has like 6 fans and he leaves it on at night :greddy:, thus this shouldn't be an issue because his fans will drown out the sound.

I wasn't really sure. It sold for $685 plus 35 for insured shipping. I'm glad I waited for it, because, yes it was free ibook, and instead of waiting they were offering $600 checks. But this way, I got to use it for 4 months and still profit.

I knew I had to sell it relatively soon because the value of those are goin downnnn with all of Apple's other offerings. I was talkin to the mac genius last night and he didn't believe that I got my iBook brand new in August...he was like you mean macbook right??

Oh well, told him I had a "friend" who had a supply of them.

tell them to make a call beacuse it ISNT already out for shipping. especially if they can't gaurantee it.

If they refuse to make a call, ask them why they would ship something you just canceled payment on from your bank?

    that gets em' everytime
