I went to a local gun show this weekend (VA crew - Prince William County fairgrounds - and I guarantee you I was the only Mini Cooper there :mamoru: ) and passed on a (1) extremely clean 91/30, which was stupid, because it had a like new stock (I wanted a hex or a dragoon); (2) most importantly, I fondled and passed on a Sig P225 (probably police trade) for $299. :hsd:

I should have bought the Sig, right?

Also, what the fuck is up with 8mm? I could not find ANY (except for tracer at $1 a round :hsugh: ). I found all sorts of wierd Eastern European subgun ammo but not any 8mm. WTF.

I saw a good deal of 8mm at the last local gun show I went to. I'll keep an eye out next time I go, but that won't be until DEC.

    :hs:

Going to a local show this Saturday. Be happy to pick some up for you, if they've got it.

Yes, the 225 for $299 was a pretty good deal. You can still get P6's (German police trade-in 225's) for $325-350 though.

Yeah, I have not really "scored" so far but it's nice to look around and see what is out there. Most guns I have only seen on-line, especially older/wierd/milsupr stuff, so I appreciate the chance to see them close up.

Gun shows here are hit and miss... one month they suck, the next they may be good... Glocks were 479$ at all the gun shows last year, I went to one this summer and the price was back down to 399$ *shrug*

does it make a difference if you get there early? the last one was :meh: but I figured I must have missed out on the good stuff because I got there around noon.

You have to figure the selection is better early in the show, but that people are more willing to deal at the end.

    :dunno:

Most of the stuff I want I can already buy cheaper online with my 03, but the opportunity to hand select is worth a few bucks to me.
