    1,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio? wtf

    I'm not a plasma 'fan'. But its better than DLP, so I would say for $970 you didn't do too bad.

    Should have gone with a Panasonic plasma that has 480Hz sub field drive

    Why are you not a fan of plasma?
    They produce the best colors, deepest blacks.
    Sure they produce more heat and consume more electricity but the benefits outway that.
    And if you are worrying about the whole glare thing, panny plasma's have the anti-glare coating.

    I'll probably stick to Panny plasma tv's for a long while.
    I'm saving up to get a 50" to replace my 42".

    Oh and some of the newer Panny plasmas also have the 1,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio also.

    still not a bad price, but i'm not a big samsung fan

    For the price you did pretty well. Panasonic would have been a better TV, for not too much more money though.
