    Depends on what you mean.

The heat 'problem' is not a problem, unless you expect to be able to utilize 100% of both processor cores while still sitting the MB/MBP on your lap. If you expect to be able to do that, then no, they haven't fixed it. Otherwise, its not a problem.

Mine is hot as hell. I'm waiting a lil longer for more issues to send it in for so they can fix all of them at the same time.

To dodge lawsuits, they are called notebooks. Same with Dell, etc.

as did I. but i got used to it. it's really no big problem unless I happen to just sit down with it on my lap whilst naked. but that hardly is the case.

I lay my MBP17 on my bare chest all the time. I have it in my lap, all the time.

The only time it is a problem is if I render video, or do something else that maxes out both cores. Then I have to set it down or put a plastic cutting board between me and it.

    So, the problem is fixed.

supposedly the new macbooks have a new logic board which got rid of the whine and heat issues for the most part.

I haven't had any complaints about my MB. Admittedly it is warmer than my PBG4, but it isn't alarmingly hot. I can set it on my lap for general use. I figure I'll probably like the heat from it in the winter because I don't usually use my heater.

    There isn't a "heat" problem.

There is a "totally unstable OS on intel platform" problem.

I remember hearing about a battery recall for the MPB battery, because it got to hot.

Mine can get to the point where I can't even hold it on the bottom.

So then I cook eggs on it...

The "heat" problem w/ mac notebooks is probably still there. Instead of using a dab of artic silver on the cpu connection to the fan they pour that shit on, and in this case this is def not one of those where "more is better" so thats why they tend to get hotter than most,a nd if you ask apple its not a ptoblem to them.. caught that in maximum pc maG pretty lame on apples part if u ask me.

I heard this was only the case on the early ones. They stopped doing this.

It's not a problem, it's a feature. Now I can cook eggs when my power goes out. :noes:
