Did anyone do an overview of Firefly for this forum?

My limited searching didn't reveal one ... which would be strange since it was the best storyline I've ever seen for a sci-fi series. Hell, even with its lack of ship-to-ship battles, I would put it above ST:TNG and Battlestar (which are two series very dear to my heart).

What's the ETA for such a thread?

I've seen every episode 5+ times, but this forum doesn't get enough traffic for me to spend my time writing one up :(

I spent hours on my B5 one and i highly doubt more than 2-3 people read it :hs:

I think we need to start making good scifi threads in the main forum, and when they're going strong, move them here.

A big part of the problem is that The Idiot Box is stealing a lot of our traffic. All those Atlantis and Galactica threads should be here, not in the TV forum.

Meh. Firefly doesn't need a review. Old West meets Outer Space. Great show, canceled midseason, got enough fan support to get a feature film called "Serenity" to cap off the storyline. Disappointing because it was so short, but a great story nonetheless.

Space above and beyond and Firefly were 2 great series's that were both killed off far to quick, i wish mainstream tv viewers could embrace sci fi a bit better, there have been some GREAT shows that died way before their time.

(yeah i know i put space above and beyond in there from nowhere but i loved it and am admittedly a bit of a space above and beyond whore lol)

Firefly didn't die because of lack of a fan base; it died because Fox constantly fucked with the schedule and chronology of the series, to make room for shows they had creative control over. (Firefly wasn't produced by Fox, so it automatically became their bitch.) Nobody could keep track of the show, and eventually most of them gave up in exasperation.

Yes. Totally fucking retarded. That episode was fantastic, and would have doubled the fan base overnight. Fox wanted Firefly to fail.

Honestly, I'm not too big of a movie watcher and really not much of a sci-fi guy, but I endded up watching Firefly and loved it. I then went and rented serenity and watched the damn thing 3 times over the weekend. The series was good but the movie was excellent.

All the TV episodes, in correct order even, is on Hulu. I was sick last week looking for something to watch and stumbled upon it. My first time watching it - great stuff. Rented the movie after that. Seems like the movie pretty much wrapped it up.

Do you guys think there's even a chance of another series storyline after the movie? I don't think it would be the same after that. Perhaps it's good that such a great show ended quickly. I mean, after a few seasons of Buffy, X-files, Simpsons:rolleyes: I already got sick of them since they never seemed to get anywhere.

I wish they had been able to continue the show, but no. It'll never happen now.

I just downloaded them awhile back and watched them all. It was a great show... wish they would have done more with it. I never knew they aired it out of order... That would ruin the story somewhat.
