Haven't posted here in quite some time. Just thought i'd share a few from my most recent shoot and see what you guys thought. Yes, some of them are pretty grainy Unfortunately i was using an older camera at high ISO, so i did what i could. Anyway, here they are:

Nice. I like the lighting and processing. Some seem a little soft around the eyes? :dunno:

    thanks!

The first 2 were shot w/ a view camera, so i threw a little tilt on the front standard for kicks :naughty:

It's very possible, the last 4 were shot wide open w/ a lens that i often have difficulty focusing, so i may have just missed :wtc:. Also i haven't done any sharpening to these yet, so maybe i can fix it a tiny bit.

    I like #2 and #6.

#1 I dont like that thing right next to her arm
#3 Not bad..just doesnt stand out much to me
#4 Not a fan of the shoulder being sharp and the eyes not. Maybe its just me.
#5 Dont like that pole right next to her head

Take this for what its worth because I do ZERO amounts of this type of photography.

love the view camera dof stuff... I gotta get me a TS lens so I can play with this stuff...

Her eyes bother me in #2 for some reason... the shot draws you into her face, but the uneven light and darkness of her eyes makes it hard to look at.

Overall though, great set! I gotta get more into environmental portraiture...

about the thing in shot #1, i do agree, that thing is a little distracting, maybe i can do some photoshop magic to get rid of it or something

for shot #4, yeah it wasn't intentional, i just missed :wtc:

Hmm, maybe i can soften the light and bring her eyes up a bit in PS, i'll give that a shot.

5 is awesome, but i would move her 6 inches to the left so that pole wasn't near her head.

Hmm, well she's actually leaning up against it, but i can see why that would be distracting

Yeah, her eyes were amazing! Great model...

DoF is a little...off. For me anyway. But this isn't to say I don't like them. They are really good.

I really like #5 though

    great photographs. nice model.

slightly soft focus works well with the overall ambiance, and the feeling of dewy gentleness she's able to communicate with her body and eyes.

sharpness is overrated for certain situations.

    good job all around.

Thanks, i kinda figured not everyone would be in to it, but i kinda like it.

I feel the same way about the slightly soft focus. Sometimes i'll even just throw an image completely oof for a certain feeling/mood

I did do a little bit of smoothing. She had a few blemishes here and there, but I'd like to think i didn't go way overboard to where it's obvious.

her skin is only part of it... I'm thinking its more her makeup than anything else, particularly around the eyes. could be just the crazy eyelashes that's giving me that impression :dunno:

The last one looks hot! She looks like Roxy Jezel (porn star). What is that thing in the middle of your watermark? looks like a pile of turd... :)

My guess is that a big part of it is her stare. It's a very captivating but not really inviting gaze. Almost Mona Lisa-ish?
