A&P Did a female back picture

    Ive always had a thing for female backs, I just love to photograph it, did this one with a friend of mine about 15 minutes ago, opinions are appreciated

    Good stuff, my only critiques is that the lighting isn't very flattering because of that harsh shadow on the wall and if you're gonna take a picture of her back, like said above, move the hair to the front. Keep shooting though.

    Originally I started with the hair hidden, but she has quite a wide back so it works out better this way.And you are totally right with the lighting, that's my major problem, understanding how lighting works, I have tons to learn

    Basically you want to separate her from the background to give you a more 3D feel to the picture. So you move her father away from the background, use diffused like (with a softbox or umbrella) and/or have the light off to the side and not straight on so you don't get flat lighting. Although sometimes flat lighting does work and look good, you just have to know when to use and when not to and what kind of effect you want in the picture. It's all about your vision, not what the text book says it should be like.

    I really like the one you just posted, the low key look is very nice.

    Makes me wonder where the "back" picture really is. Looks more like a hair and shadow pic. :)
