I'm for it!
IMO Aoki smokes him in BJJ.
I also hope Mach KO's him.
No and No
pretty much the only logical outcome.
he may be a worthless stoner but i love his attitude towards fighting.
Shinya's MMA BJJ game > Diaz's MMA BJJ Game
Diaz has much, much better boxing and wrestling though
And JZ doesn't?
JZ's bio on ATT says he has a black belt and it also later says he acquired his purple belt in BJJ after (from a different instructor?)
in any case Nick does have better jiu-jitsu probably and would likely match up better than JZ
Aoki would get stuck in a weird position and get pummeled
Nick does not have better striking, wrestling, or gNp than JZ. He has better BJJ but thats about it really. I doubt he would be able to pound Aoki's face like JZ did, Nick's gNp is not that strong and ferocious. JZ only needed a couple secs of pounding Aoki's face on the ground in to break his face.
yup, but Diaz is taller which should really help keep the distance if he chooses to keep it standing
Flying guard pull.
i honestly don't think nick will be as careful on the ground as he needs to be with aoki if it ever comes to it. JZ was extremely careful and still got caught in some attempts. He thinks he has better bjj which will make him not pay attention and aoki will capitalize on that mistake.
I never said that it was better than JZ's, however...Nick would likely be more comfortable tying up with Aoki..and thus more able to strike and wrestle.
These two guys are comparable in BJJ, with Aoki having the slight advantage. In striking? Would Aoki be able to knock out Robbie Lawler? Would he be able to outbox Takanori Gomi? Nick would negate the BJJ and fuck Aoki's day up.
You guys give Aoki so much credit, the fact is that he beats people when they are intimidated by his BJJ and then don't execute their gameplans. Nick won't be intimidated.
that would be an interesting match. seems like diaz keeps getting himself into some interesting predicaments. What the hells going on with noons btw
I think it would be an awesome match. No doubt Aoki has better bjj but Diaz is an allround fighter whereas Aoki is much more one-dimensional. Bookies would definitely put Aoki as the favourite but it would be a hells close fight.
Oh right, like how JZ was able to keep it standing and impose his striking on Aoki
JZ, the MMA guy who went toe to toe against one of the best K-1 Max kickboxers wasn't even able to land any damaging strikes standing on Aoki or keep the fight from going to the ground.
Aoki wouldn't be able to knock out Lawler and no he wouldn't be able to outbox Gomi but thats because he wouldn't have to just like how he didn't have to against JZ. (And Nick Diaz's boxing is overrated but thats another discussion)
Nick wouldn't negate Aoki's BJJ, his guard game is not as tight as Aoki's and his gNp is nothing special that Aoki hasn't faced against before.
You're right, Nick won't be intimidated but thats also his downfall. He thinks he can beat everyone at their own game and is too stubborn to execute his own gameplan onto them. Aoki wouldn't fuck around, he wouldn't try to keep it standing, he has great Judo and he would either take him down or pull guard and then execute his gameplan.
Black Belt in Luta Livre I think
And this is the same Diaz that couldnt do shit (and lost, despite being given a huge gift split decision) to fucking Mike Aina
Hi, I'm drag_on, I can't read.
Aoki would lose this fight. He would get knocked out. Sorry dude.
